Explain what is meant by theraputic index (in relation to antibiotics).

I know that the therapeutic index is the ratio between toxic dose and the therapeutic dose of a drug, used to measure the safety of the drug for a particular treatment. However the answer is worth 5 marks..Can anybody give me anymore information for therapeutic index in relation to antibiotics??…

Thanku…xxx
