The murderer was Roger, Max’s agent. First off, why would an agent keep a list of friends and family for his client? Agents are only interested in the client.

Secondly, columnists don’t have agents. They have editorss and publishers.

Assuming it is not Roger (where is the motive) it would be Gerald. Marissa had or could get everything she could wanted except the alimony and she can't get that if Max is dead. Likewise, Jillian needed Max alive if he was the "gravy train". Gerald might be in line for the inheritance and that would mean more for Marissa in trying to win her back. The interesting thing here is the last entry on the typewriter. As a manual, this pattern cannot be duplicated by a fallling head. The characters are too far apart and anyone that used to pound a manual knows the keys get stuck together when stuck simultaniously.

The agent Roger stabbed him….the clue ‘49t34 w5qgg3e j3′ means roger Stabbed me…..Max’s hands were on the wrong keys, and he typed the letters higher than the ones he wanted
