biology – nuclear transfer (clone creating)

December 302009

Nuclear Transfer is a form of cloning. The steps involve removing the DNA from an oocyte and while(unfertilized egg), and injecting the nucleus which contains the DNA to be cloned. In rare instances, the newly constructed cell will divide normally, replicating the new DNA while remaining in a pluripotent state. If the cloned cells are placed in the uterus of a female mammal, a cloned organism develops to term in rare instances. This is how Dolly the Sheep and many other species were cloned. Alternatively, if cells are extracted from the cloned cells during very early embryonic stages (blastocyst or morula), embryonic stem cells can be created. These cells can be grown in laboratories indefinitely and can theoretically be made into any of the 200+ cell types in the mammalian body, and thus are an extraordinary tool for biologists as well as a therapeutic agent with the potential to treat currently untreatable medical conditions.

    HEY…scientists in …
HEY…scientists in here are arguing now..
..and they’re giving each other a sweet thumbsdown..

  2. ArianRohani Says:

    I meant almost no …
I meant almost no progress, there has been some, but not much lol

  3. ArianRohani Says:

    ” And without …
” And without certainty it would be next to practically impossible to try this on a human because of “moral”", As you can see, I said because of “moral”. Why hasn’t there been any progress in embryonic stem cells? Because of moral.

  4. ArianRohani Says:

    It’s futile to …
It’s futile to argue with you since you misunderstand everything. I have never stated that it is impossible to do “reprogram” the human genome. “Unlikely probabilities”. I’m not the one up, please argue like a smart person. And debunk the core Of what I’ve stated. Then you can go on prancing around like a about how right you are. Stupid cunt.

  5. hersheybar11 Says:

    Well, you can be …
Well, you can be the next mother-fucker who comes up with unlikely probabilities. You are just building brick houses in your dreams. You OBVIOUSLY CANNOT REASON SINCE YOU ARE IN THE BRAIN u mentally challenged moron. AND THE THINGS THAT YOU HAVE JUST STATED DON’T make any sense…. first.. TRY TO reason..then.. post comments.. you have gone from posting a comment on how the genome can evolve due to experimentation to saying that it would be impossible to try this on humans!

  6. ArianRohani Says:

    “Why hasn’t it …
“Why hasn’t it happened already?”. Well OBVIOUSLY YOU DUMB FUCK, we would make mistakes. It is guaranteed. Do you think the first scientists who changed the genome of crops made it work the first time?

Since now we are talking about humans, there would be no “If we up, lets try again”. And without certainty it would be next to practically impossible to try this on a human because of “moral”. I am saying that messing up, is a likely probability, humans tend to do that.

  7. ArianRohani Says:

    Well maybe I am …
Well maybe I am trying to simplify what I am saying since I don’t have the energy to write long complex explanations, and only being able to write 500 characters doesn’t help.

If we try to change our DNA, we could unknowingly change a trait that would be beneficial in the future. How can you disagree with that?

  8. hersheybar11 Says:

    If being ’superior’ …
If being ’superior’ is having 1000 mistakes in my sentence(analogy)… lol…even when you try to write correctly… u STILL have mistakes… nd if that(ur case) were the case… why hasn’t it happen already… you are looking at something that has a prob. of something close to “not probable.”

  9. ArianRohani Says:

    Not until now have …
Not until now have I realized that you might have misunderstood “superhuman”. Super is a prefix that means “above” or “better”´or in this context “superior”.

We could unknowingly change something that could make have dramatic consequences to our intellect.
Something that would otherwise improve our thinking etc, that would make us “super”smart.

You should maybe stop watching cartoons.

  10. hersheybar11 Says:

    Your first comment …
Your first comment was very stupid… so dont deviate and try to cover up your mistakes.,…

  11. ArianRohani Says:

    No? Your analogy is …
    No? Your analogy is stupid.

What if we take away a part that we think changes our intestines but have dramatic consequences for our brains?

  12. hersheybar11 Says:

    that’s like saying …
that’s like saying that we will be able to fly if our “genome “evolves… get back into reality you ignorant idiot..

  13. ArianRohani Says:

    What’s so ignorant …
What’s so ignorant about it? Can you seriously say that we know everything about how our genome works etc? You are stupid.

  14. hersheybar11 Says:

    okay… ur reasons …
okay… ur reasons aren’t plausible… so please stop stating ignorant ideas…

  15. Haydenrw93 Says:

    they cant clone if …
they cant clone if they dont have some kind of cell to start with

  16. ArianRohani Says:

    Well, we can …
Well, we can unknowingly take away a part of our DNA that would if evolved on it’s own make us superhuman etc etc. Always a bad side to a good idea.

  17. ArianRohani Says:

    Never really …
Never really thought of that, that’s a smart idea!

  18. Dralzun Says:

    Oh, you meant gene …
Oh, you meant gene defect treatment by using clones as the experimental group. Okay, that makes sense. Just… Let’s avoid humans as much as possible though :P

  19. jxaxmxixn Says:

    Dralzun,

    Yes it …
    Dralzun,

Yes it would have the same mutations. And that’s the beauty, now you have an exact duplicate you can mess with without having to harm the original person. (of course just how long you let the clone develop before destroying it is controversial)
When you apply the “fixes” to the original, you’ll know you’re not taking any chances.

But overall I believe that science will eventually have no more need to clone…

  20. Dralzun Says:

    Wait, wouldn’t the …
Wait, wouldn’t the clone have the same genes and therefore the same mutations? I’m not a biologist so I really wouldn’t know. But yeah, sorry about the harsh remark; that’s assholeness on my part.

  21. jxaxmxixn Says:

    Dralzun,
    I agree …

    Dralzun,
I agree with you for the most part, but the idea is not a complete failure… If a person has some kind of a gene deficiency for example and you want to figure out how to turn them off or on you wouldn’t want to practice on that person… So, you can clone the person and practice on the embrio until you get it right.
There are many ways for improvement, and many ways to get there.
Most importantly – We must NOT let fundamentalist beliefs keep us from progress.

  22. Dralzun Says:

    Fail. That’s not …
Fail. That’s not improvement. Improvement is downloading languages onto the brain or strengthening the immune system via protein manipulation.

  23. aroogooy123 Says:

    They should clone …
They should clone Einstien, or any other great scientists who discovered many great things, so that they can make even more amazing things to this day.

  24. dud3man6969 Says:

    yeah, you can learn …
yeah, you can learn anything on youtube.

  25. LilBulldogJunior Says:

who knew this would save my on my test one day…damn
